The 602 Club 26: Chrome Stormtroopers

Battlestar Galactica 1978

In the early 60’s, Glen Larson had the idea for Battlestar Galactica, originally called Adam’s Ark. It was not able to find it’s way to TV until Star Wars’ release in 1977 when every TV network and movie studio decided to get into the “Star Game”. Beginning in 1978 it did not last long, citing declining ratings and cost overruns, ABC canceled Battlestar Galactica in April 1979.

In this episode of The 602 Club host Matthew Rushing and Norman Lao talk about the original Battlestar Galactica. We discuss our experiences with the show, watching things as children, watching the series now, the story, setting, production design, the mythology, the acting and if the show has staying power.
