Voyager as an Animated Series
Star Trek: The Animated Series is an often overlooked edition in the franchise's extensive catalog. Yes, it was short-lived and, yes, it wasn't always good, but it also made the most of telling Star Trek stories in an animated format—especially on a ridiculously low budget. But when we say that The Animated Series has an important place in Trek lore, don't take our word for it; instead, tune into Trek.fm's Saturday Morning Trek, which explores all facets of Star Trek in the 1970s.
In this episode of To the Journey, Char and Tristan ponder an animated version of Voyager. How would it be developed and distributed if it were being produced today? What sort of stories would it tell? How would animation lend itself to new things that couldn't have been done on the live action series? They think through these questions and more, so tune in and let us know what you think of the idea of an animated Voyager series.
