"Author, Author" Commentary
Just about any episode centered around the Doctor is likely to be entertaining. What's better than that? Well, what about an episode that's as entertaining as it is thought-provoking? Cue Voyager's "Author, Author," which aired in the last third of the seventh season. Motivated by the knowledge that EMH Mark I holograms like himself have been relegated to menial jobs, the Doctor has written "Photons Be Free," a holonovel that is loosely based on his experience aboard Voyager. But when the crew sees thinly-veiled exaggerations of themselves being portrayed in the program, they're not exactly happy.
Join Tristan and Char in this episode of To The Journey as they break out the quills, the smoking jackets and the Netflix as they comment on the shenanigans that ensue as the Doctor fights for his intellectual property rights.
